Kathryn and Brett's Larimore Venue wedding was a showstopping affair and a joy to capture as their photographer. A tornado ripping through St. Louis couldn't rain on their (literal) parade. Their traditional New Orleans second line led their group of family and friends from their ceremony to the reception space in full sun. You'd never even known they'd weathered a storm just an hour before.

Rainy Day at The Larimore Venue

As I arrived at The Larimore, the weather forecast was bleak. St. Louis was expecting torrential downpours and tornadoes. Both came to pass by the time I had finished details and a first look. As we had scheduled a break for downtime before the ceremony, all hell broke loose.

Rain thundered against the windows of the Larimore House as Brett and Kathryn finished getting ready and enjoying quiet time together. Instead of stressing, they took it in stride, taking the time to snap some extra portraits in the doorway to recreate some memories from their early relationship. Even with the storm outside, the whole afternoon felt relaxed and intentional, a quiet lead-up to everything that was about to unfold.

Ceremony at the Marble Gazebo

When the ceremony at the Marble Gazebo started, the sun had arrived just intime. Guests shook off their umbrellas, settled in, and the whole moment felt like the day had finally clicked into place right when it mattered.

Portraits in the Gardens

As the sun dropped low over the Larimore’s garden, everything softened into that perfect golden glow. Brett and Kathryn wandered the brick paths together, totally wrapped up in each other. Nothing posed or fussy, just easy, warm moments as the light faded.

A Bluesy Reception

Beignets, a live band, and lots of laughter brought the day to a close. It was a joy and a privilege to capture Brett and Kathryn’s incredible day and the blending of their tight-knit family.
